The Boulos Family Scholarship

Policy on Applicant Waiting List

 

      In order for an applicant to be placed on the waiting list for a Boulos Family Scholarship, the applicant must meet the eligibility requirements as outlined below: 

• Have served in Iraq or Afghanistan in the post-September 11, 2001 conflicts;

• Be currently serving in the U.S. Military, the National Guard, or Reserves, or have been honorably discharged;

• Have been a Maine resident prior to serving in either conflict;

• Be enrolled or accepted in a credit course or program at a regionally accredited Maine higher education institution; and

• Show proof of military service (DD 214 or other official military documentation).  
 

            An applicant will be placed on the waiting list by the order of application date.  

            If an applicant is notified by the Maine Community College System (MCCS) that a scholarship award is available, the applicant will have 21 days to confirm his/her acceptance from the date of the MCCS notification (not the date the notification is received).   

            If an applicant does not respond to the notification of the available scholarship award within the 21-day period, the applicant will be removed from the waiting list.  

            If a waiting list applicant receives a scholarship award, it must be used for the upcoming semester and can not be used for retroactive costs.
