A Tribute to Maine Veterans
Education Equals Opportunity | The Boulos Family The Boulos Family Scholarship was created to recognize and
thank the men and women of Maine who served their country
in the armed forces in Iraq or Afghanistan during the post-September
11 conflicts. These veterans have endured the perils of war
as well as the hardships it creates at homeextended
separation from family and loved ones, their communities and
their jobs. As Chair of the Maine Compact for Higher
Education, Joe Boulos knows first hand that a college education
is key to success in Maines rapidly transforming economy.
Now more than ever, job opportunities in Maine demand the leadership,
technical, and critical thinking skills a college education
provides. A college education holds the best promise for individuals
to achieve their ambitions and earn a living that allows them
to prosper in Maine. The Boulos Family Scholarship will provide
a gateway for Maine veterans to reach their goals and aspirations,
for themselves and their families.
